Research Group for Instructional Design (RG4ID)

The research team will work on the following research topics:

• task typology:
  • categorisation of interactive tasks based on logical parameters
  • Effect of task types on the learning process and learner activity in online learning environments
  • the relationship between the effectiveness and efficiency of learning with different interactive tasks and the cognitive and affective characteristics of the learner
• LMS functionality:
  • impact of activity modules applied in online course interfaces on the individual and group learning process
  • the relationship between the optimal microstructure of the educational process and the modular design of the online course interface
  • the possibilities of presenting educational methodologies in an online course environment: didactically based development of activity modules
• the specificities of instructional videos:
  
  • the impact of using different media elements on learner engagement, attention and learning efficiency
  • the application of the principles of a multimodal media environment in instructional videos
• instructional design and general didactics:
  • defining the logic of the learning activity with guidelines for the transformation of educational resources into teaching materials
  • the potential of interactive learning content with different logics in the learning process
    feasibility of teaching methods and teaching strategies in online learning environments

In the research areas, we undertake the topic management of theses and TDK research. We provide support for PhD research and preparation for admission to doctoral school through joint work in the OIP HUB group. We are open to collaborations in scientific and applied research, research + development + innovation projects based on the subject areas. The research group is also proactive in the field of instructional design and digital pedagogy to reduce the proliferation of pseudoscience and substandard research, and in the social dissemination of scientific research results.
